Dr. Rita Roy is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Spine Health Foundation, where she has served since 2019. She is a physician and entrepreneur experienced in the use of emerging technology for healthcare communication and education. Dr. Roy received her medical degree and conducted her general surgery residency internship at George Washington University Medical Center.

Dr. Roy brings her medical and technology expertise to drive the mission of improving spinal health through patient education, research, and patient advocacy. Dr. Roy co-founded Astute Technologies, which focused on e-learning solutions and virtual conference support for medical and healthcare associations and institutions. Prior to that, she co-founded Medical Consumer Media, which was acquired by HealthAnswers. During her 30-year career, Dr. Roy has used her technology expertise to transform ideas into successful business
models. She has advised and developed e-learning web applications for non-profits, associations, universities, and government agencies. She is a frequent speaker and has published numerous scientific papers.
