“Kaakpema “KP” Yelpaala is the Inaugural Faculty Director of the Future of Health Innovation Hub and a Senior Fellow & Lecturer at the Yale School of Public Health. He is a global health entrepreneur and digital transformation leader with experience across the United States, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Caribbean.
His work focuses on translating public health science into scalable solutions by integrating technology, policy, and entrepreneurship to expand access to care and strengthen health systems. At Yale, he leads a cross-sector platform that brings together faculty, students, and industry partners to develop and scale population-level health innovations.
KP has founded two venture-backed digital health companies, including access.mobile International, which deployed its solutions across multiple African countries, and InOn Health in the United States. He was an early employee of the Clinton Health Access Initiative and a management consultant at Dalberg Global Development Advisors. He has also served as a digital health consultant with the World Bank’s Digital Economy and Society practice.
KP is a Venture Partner at Heuristic Capital, an early-stage health tech and deep tech investment fund based in Silicon Valley, and was named a 2023 Rock Health Top 50 Digital Health Luminary.”
