Michael L. Penn, Jr., MD, PhD leads equitable innovation at the AMA’s Center for Health Equity and is founding partner of Health Equity Ventures. He began his career at Genentech and later served as VP at Gladstone Institutes, then CEO of the Gladstone Foundation. Dr. Penn serves on several boards, including the Tara Health Foundation and The Helix School. He holds a B.S. from Morehouse and M.D./Ph.D. from UCSF.
