“Yusuf N. Henriques is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of IndyGeneUS BIO, a pioneering
BioFinTech company redefining how genomic data is valued, owned, and leveraged on a global
scale. With a bold vision to build the world’s largest and most inclusive genomic database,
Henriques is transforming underrepresented data into Biological Capital—unlocking discovery,
driving equity, and positioning communities historically left out of the genomic revolution to
participate in its economic upside.
A Jamaican-born immigrant and serial entrepreneur, Henriques has built his career at the
intersection of financial innovation and health equity. His work challenges long-standing systems
while introducing new frameworks that ensure precision medicine reflects the full diversity of
humanity—not just a fraction of it. Often described as building “the BlackRock of genomics,” his
leadership is anchored in both disruption and responsibility.
Henriques is a globally sought-after voice on precision health equity and Whole Genome
Sequencing, with a particular focus on advancing outcomes for BIPOC communities. Whether on
stage or in strategic advisory rooms, he brings clarity to complex scientific and economic
conversations—bridging the gap between innovation and impact.
Before launching his ventures, Henriques established himself as a leading regulatory affairs expert.
He began his federal career as Acting Branch Chief at the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA),
overseeing critical divisions including Ob/Gyn, Gastroenterology, and Urology within the Center for
Devices and Radiological Health. He went on to serve as Director of Regulatory Affairs at SAIC,
where he led compliance strategies for multi-site clinical trials, and as a lead regulatory scientist
at Booz Allen Hamilton’s Strategic Innovation Group.
His scientific leadership extended to the Department of Veterans Affairs, where he managed a $45
million research portfolio focused on PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury for the VA Cooperative
Studies Program and the Department of Defense. During this time, he worked alongside renowned
researcher Rachel Yehuda and secured exclusive rights to a groundbreaking PTSD genomic assay
he developed—now being piloted across VA hospitals nationwide to address suicide rates among
veterans and active-duty service members”
